El workshop titulado Una ciudad oculta, herramientas geoespaciales en la era de los datos fue desarrollado como un complemento al taller de especialidad del magíster en proyecto urbano, de la facultad de arquitectura de la Universidad Católica de Chile. El objetivo principal fue entregar herramientas para que los alumnos pudiesen analizar datos abiertos, sobre todo geoespaciales, para profundizar en su entendimiento del entorno urbano y así tomar decisiones más informadas. Otro aspecto relevante es que en el workshop sólo se utilizó software libre, para que los alumnos pudiesen seguir utilizándolo sin preocuparse por el costo de licencias a futuro. Las principales herramientas utilizadas fueron QGIS, Kepler.gl y el lenguaje de programación Python con la librería Pandas.

The workshop titled A hidden city, geospatial tools in the era of data” was developed as a complement to the speciality studio of the master in urban project, of the architecture faculty of the *Universidad Católica de Chile. The main goal was to give students tools so they could analyze open data, particularly geospatial, to deepen their understanding of the urban environment, so they could make better informed choices. Another relevant aspect is that all the software used in the workshop is open source, so students are free to use it in the future without worrying about license fees or other aspects. The main tools used to analyze the data were: QGIS, Kepler.gl and the programming language Python with the library Pandas.
